Strega Prize, Giuli: "Moving it to Cinecittà is not revenge but an opportunity"

Strega Prize, Giuli: "Moving it to Cinecittà is not revenge but an opportunity"

The minister: "No downsizing, the Studios will be bigger and more spacious and an opportunity to bring culture to the suburbs"

The idea of moving the final evening of the Strega Prize from the historic location of the Ninfeo di Villa Giulia to Cinecittà "is not at all a downsizing" of this prestigious literary award "and much less a reprisal against anyone, but an opportunity since Cinecittà is much larger and has more space". This was stated by the Minister of Culture Alessandro Giuli , on the sidelines of the inauguration of the exhibition on the Bronzes of San Casciano, in Berlin, also underlining that the location of the Cinecittà Studios, on Via Tuscolana, is in the suburbs.

Places, the suburbs, which it is right - as repeatedly supported by the owner of the Mic - "enjoy the possibility of enjoying great cultural, literary, cinematographic events". So "why not?".

Giuli was not present at the final ceremony of the Strega Prize this year. The reason? The two-day institutional trip to Germany, yesterday and today. " I was invited to the evening of the awards ceremony - Giuli explained to Adnkronos who asked him about it - but unlike in the past, I have not received any signal from the Bellonci Foundation, nor a candidate book, after my appointment as Minister of Culture. Perhaps as minister, from 'Friend of Sunday', I have become 'enemy of Sunday'". "Therefore I will not be present - added Giuli - I have booked a trip to Germany for a meeting with the German Minister of Culture".
